Later on, its jurisdiction was extended to seven tribal-dominated districts of Indore division namely, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur and Barwani.

DEVI AHILYA VISWAVIDYALAYA also known as DAVV, comes under Indore University. The University has completed its 58^th year of establishment. DAVV is committed to delivering the best education, learning experience and services to the students. Devi Ahilya Viswavidyalaya is proud to be as First State University of Madhya Pradesh which has been accredited with an “A” grade by NAAC. The university was established in 1946, by an Act of the Legislature of Madhya Pradesh. Being an affiliating State University, whose jurisdiction includes seven tribal-dominated districts of the Indore division. DAVV is catering to the educational needs of one hand to the most industrially developed district of MP, Indore, and on the other hand to the tribal and rural backward districts of the State.

With one of the most diversified courses and educational structure, DAVV serves around 3,00,000 students every year through well-qualified human resources, with a diversified course structure, interdisciplinary research, and value-based education. The university conducts a common Entrance Test (CET) every year for admission in Under Graduate, Post Graduate courses. It has more than 81 professors, 61 readers, 585 lectures, and 727 teachers.

DAVV has over 264 colleges, study centers, and departments affiliated with them to serve the best learning possible for the students. It is a proud university that has training, research, and faculty exchange collaborations with some international institutes in the Hungry, USA, Russia, Belgium, Canada, Taiwan, and the Czech Republic. Agencies like CSIR, UGC, ICAR, DBT, ICSSR, DST, and MPCS are found in their research papers.
